Tidak lama selepas itu, anak lelakinya Abhishek turut mengesahkan bahawa dia juga telah disahkan positif Covid-19.
Earlier today both my father and I tested positive for COVID 19. Both of us having mild symptoms have been admitted to hospital. We have informed all the required authorities and our family and staff are all being tested. I request all to stay calm and not panic. Thank you. 🙏🏽

Bachchan, 77 dan Abhishek, 44 telah dibawa ke Hospital Nanavati di Mumbai selepas mereka mengalami beberapa simptom-simptom Covid-19.
Menurut sumber, keadaan Amitabh masih stabil dan kini sedang ditempatkan di bilik kuarantin hospital.
Amitabh juga menggesa agar orang ramai yang pernah berjumpa dengan beliau dalam 10 hari sebelum ini agar membuat ujian saringan.
Pengumuman menyedihkan ini turut mendapat reaksi sedih para selebriti di India yang turut mendoakan kesihatan Amitabh Bachchan dan anaknya.
